King Of Rhythm, The Ike Turner Story

By A. P. Ri’Chard

           Juke Joint

Hopeful Cast

 With:

Queen Latifah    Robert Duval   Vivica Fox

Personal controversy aside, IKE TURNER was one of the most dynamic, talented--musicians of his time. This music legend also possesses the uncanny ability of recognizing and nurturing talent.  “KING OF RHYTHM, THE IKE TURNER STORY” explores certain aspects of this unique individual’s life.  Born in Clarksdale, MS on November 5, 1931 Ike began playing the piano at age five.  The black prodigy had his first gig when he, at age eleven, played piano for Sonny Boy Williamson and Robert Nighthawk.  This motion picture is not meant to throw jabs, or be a response to Tina Turner’s ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It’…  Nor is this an effort to excuse the negative energy displayed in past years.  The Ike Turner Story will explore his ride from child prodigy to teenaged radio personality, from, Rocket 88, to King Of Rhythm. This movie will bring to light Ike’s influence on some of the master musicians of his era.

He explains to his son that if the case were to go to trial young LARRY would receive the death penalty, thus convincing him to plead guilty to a crime perpetrated against a racist white-man in their hometown.

Caged Innocence successfully draws on American racial history and the experience of prison life to add depth and flesh to an already powerful family drama. It echoes the enormously popular ‘Shawshank Redemption’ due to its depiction of prison and its biographical portrayal of one man’s life.

The Market Place

By A. P. Ri’Chard

This is a powerful new drama series set in present day New York City that chronicles the lives of four life-long friends from Queens, New York. Joey Esposito, 27 is V.P. of Sales and Acquisitions at The Market Place; Clay Bass, st, Assistant DA; and Mike FITZPATRICK is 28, a restaurateur and a self-taught computer whiz. Together they make up the Market Place  29 is a NYPD Detective; Ilene Santiago, 27 is the City’s smartest and sexiest

The series begins when Max Esposito, CEO of the Market Place tells his nephew Joey that he is contemplating an early retirement and would be handing over the reigns to him if only he can seal a major corporate deal with Steve Morgan, owner of Morgan Technologies.

In a sole effort to seal the deal, Joey who is unaware of Steve Morgan’s mysterious past, cultivates the relationship by introducing the madman and serial rapist to his best friend Ilene as well as inadvertently sets him up with Clay’s nineteen year-old next door neighbor and babysitter. These two otherwise seemingly harmless meetings lead to catastrophic events; one being the brutal rape of the young babysitter and the other is Steve Morgan’s instant obsession with Ilene after a casual dinner date.

But while investigating the brutal rape of his babysitter, Clay discovers that the culprit behind the assault is Steve Morgan. He tells Ilene and even though Steve initially charmed her, she decides to end dealings with him; however, the obsessed Billionaire swears that he will exact revenge from Clay. Although Clay also tells Joey of his findings, the ambitious Joey continues to do business with Steve. Then suddenly Clay losses his wife and daughter in what is believed to be a tragic and unrelated car accident. But is it?

Meanwhile to make matters worse for the life-long friends, a local crime boss and a loosely-tied friend of the family Gino Cappella catches wind of Joey’s impending promotion at the Market Place and pays him a visit to collect on an old debt. Ten years prior, Joey intervened in a dispute between Gino’s henchmen and his close, but trouble-making friend Mike. At seventeen, Mike Fitzpatrick had been robbing the family’s number runners and Gino sent two of his soldiers to teach him a lesson.

While heading home, Ilene, Clay and Joey, spot Mike being roughed up. Joey approaches the thugs and asks that they spare Mike. The soldiers recognize Joey and allow Mike a pass for that night, but promise that they would be back if their boss objects.  The next day, Gino, the crime boss spots Joey and tells him although he was impressed by his loyalty toward his friends, he will let Mike off the hook but one day he must pay for this favor. And that one day he will come to collect. Well, that day has come and he wants Joey to use The Market Place to launder his ill-gotten gains or else he and his loyal friends will all suffer.

Faced with these unspeakable obstacles Joey, Clay, Ilene and Mike pull together as always using all of their combined power, beauty, brains, and money; they become a force to be reckoned with-a force that undesirables like Steve Morgan or Gino Cappella won’t be able to deal with. That force is what makes up The Market Place.
